Lorenzo Insigne's 79th-minute goal gave Italy their first win in the Euro Under-21 championships currently being played in Israel. In the other group match, Norway drew 2-2 against the hosts. Alberto Paloschi stayed on the bench. The next match is on Saturday against Israel.

The Gialloblù delegation returned from Beijing on Sunday. It was made up of Dramé, Acerbi, Théréau, Luciano, Andreolli, Squizzi, Sampirisi and Dainelli, along with Enzo Zanin, Marco Pacione, Francesco De Vita and Patrizio Binazzi.

Commercial and marketing manager Enzo Zanin was satisfied: "This was an unforgettable trip, a great experience for promoting Chievo. ChievoVerona is very well-known in China and they were very enthusiastic.

The new Serie A

Livorno have beaten Empoli in the Serie B play-offs and so join Sassuolo and Hellas Verona in Serie A.

The full 2013-14 season TIM Serie A line-up is: Atalanta, Bologna, Cagliari, Catania, ChievoVerona, Fiorentina, Genoa, Inter Milan, Juventus, Lazio, Livorno, AC Milan, Napoli, Parma, Roma, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Torino, Udinese and Hellas Verona.

The championship kicks off on 25th August 2013 and ends on 18th May 2014. The winter break runs from 23rd December to 4th January. There are three midweek fixtures: 25th September, 30th October and 7th May.
